Looking back to look forward
Gevalia is Sweden’s leading coffee brand that needed to be relevant again. Over
the years it’s distinctive look had lost it’s way and was left becoming a ‘me too
brand’ rather than having the confidence of the category leader in Sweden.
Gevalia is an well loved brand with a strong heritage and a dig in the archives gave us
the opportunity to leverage and re-introduce some of Gevalias most memorable
and distinctive character.
The Approach
Losing market share to it’s competitors after many years diluting what made it distinctive.
We did this by bringing back what was lost along the years. A dig through the archives was the inspiration we needed to bring back original assets that consumers once loved and with some considerate updating to give them a fresh feel and still recognised as being associated with Gevalia. Through some careful crafting of old assets and subtle introduction of some new, Gevalia became relevant again.
